Our Story

Two Decades on Rhode Island Rooftops

Summit Roofing & Exterior is a family-owned, Rhode Island-grown company built on a simple idea: do exceptional work, tell the truth, and stand behind every nail.

Who We Are

From One Truck to Rhode Island's Most Trusted Exterior Team

Summit started in 2004 with one truck, one crew, and a founder who'd spent a decade watching storm-chasing outfits blow through New England, do mediocre work, and disappear. He believed a roofing company could be different: local, accountable, and honest enough to tell a homeowner when their roof didn’t need replacing.

500+ projects later, that idea hasn’t changed. We’re certified by the manufacturers we install, our project managers are on-site every day, and our license number rides on every truck — because accountability shouldn’t be hard to find.

Today our teams handle everything outside your walls: roofing, storm restoration, insurance claims, siding, and custom decks. One company, one standard, one warranty.

Years of Craftsmanship

What We Believe

The Values Behind the Warranty

Built for New England

Nor'easters, coastal salt air, freeze-thaw winters, and humid summers — we engineer every roof for the specific climate that will attack it.

Honesty Over Revenue

About a third of our inspections end with 'your roof is fine.' We'd rather earn your trust today and your project in five years.

Craftsmanship in Writing

A lifetime workmanship warranty only works if the company plans to exist for a lifetime. We've been here 22 years — and we're not going anywhere.

Neighbors, Not a Call Center

Our owners live in the communities we serve. When you call, a Summit employee in Rhode Island answers — not an answering service.

How It Works

From First Call to Final Warranty

A clear six-step process with a named project manager and no surprises. Here's exactly what working with Summit looks like.

1

Step 1: Free Inspection

A certified inspector evaluates your roof with drone imagery and a 21-point checklist, then walks you through the findings the same day.

2

Step 2: Detailed Estimate

You receive a fixed, line-item estimate with material options and photos — no vague allowances, no pressure tactics.

3

Step 3: Project Planning

We handle permits, HOA approvals, material orders, and insurance paperwork, and lock in your installation date.

4

Step 4: Installation

A dedicated crew protects your property, completes the work — most roofs in a single day — and your project manager stays on-site.

5

Step 5: Final Inspection

A supervisor walks every plane of the roof, runs magnetic nail sweeps, and reviews the finished project with you in person.

6

Step 6: Warranty

Your lifetime workmanship warranty is registered on top of a 30-year manufacturer shingle warranty — both delivered in writing.
